Hi! Thanks for joining us. Come meet our crew!

The name’s Bond, I mean Kathy — London Film Museum

Hi! This is Kathy, and I do most of the writing on this site. I was raised in a small New England town, then moved on to live in the French Alps, Mexico City, and Montreal, Canada. These days, our blended family is based in Washington, D.C., where I work as a translator (Spanish, French, and Portuguese) for an international organization.

Years ago my friend Paul made the offhand comment, “I love the travel blog that is your Facebook page.” Of course, there was no blog at the time, just me posting photos from our frequent travels. That remark planted the seed in my mind though and, after years of neighbors, family, and even my kids’ teachers asking me to share some of our ideas and itineraries, we ultimately launched this blog so others may benefit from the exhaustive travel research I do for fun and our experience on the ground in locations around the world.

In recent years, we have become frequent flier miles and points junkies and love teaching people how they can travel for free even if they are not frequent travelers (most of the points we earn do not actually come from flying).  So, in addition to finding destination reports, you will see articles about earning free travel, traveling as a couple, travel with kids, and special considerations for blended families. Our goal is to help you travel more and better.

We hope you will stay awhile. Please do comment, ask a question, or share with friends. Let’s make this a conversation!
